A Nostalgic Deja Vu-DoorDarshan

I recall a poem from my early childhood and cannot help but appreciate its much relevant message today:

What is this life if full of care
We have no time to stand and stare?

No time to stand beneath the boughs
And stare as long as sheep, or cows.

No time to see, when woods we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass.

No time to see, in broad daylight,
Streams full of stars, like skies at night.

No time to turn at Beauty’s glance,
And watch her feet, how they can dance.

No time to wait till her mouth can
Enrich that smile her eyes began.

A poor life this, if full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.

-William Henry Davies 1871 - 1940
-----------------------------------------
It has indeed become a busy life when we are so short of time,
have even shorter breaths and in spite of that are always late.

Sometimes I miss the days gone by,
the beauty and charm of which I can never forget.

Let’s start on a sweet journey and try to reminisce our childhood days vis a vis Doordarshan

We had a black and white TV Texla and if ever we reached home early from the external games we got to see this Doordarshan Logo. Thence the TV also started at its own sweet time around 6 PM

And then whilst watching any interesting program how we hated the Doordarshan’ s Screensaver

Image.image002The ever sprouting

"Rukawat ke Liye Khed Hai"

or

"Sorry for the Interruption"

Then came the news time at 8.30 PM (if my memory is right it was 8.30 only)
Who can forget the face of news reading

The ever gentle and soft spoken

And then whilst watching Spiderman %5BUNSET%5Dsponsored by Rasna if a crow sat on the antenna, how we rushed to have it rotated in the right direction while one of our brothers watched TV to shout about the signal clarity !!

He Man used to be the perennial favorite:

Around these programmes our World
used to revolve.

and also

’Mungerilal ke Hasin Sapne’
and
carrot munching
’Karamchand’ with Kitty

We used to finish our breakfast, lunch and dinner to rush and watch the doordarshan and never were ready to miss even a single frame/scene.
